The Haryana Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 was a state law aimed at reserving a significant share of certain private sector jobs for candidates domiciled in Haryana. It became notable for constitutional debate over equality, freedom of trade, and residence-based reservation in private employment. The Punjab and Haryana High Court later held the law unconstitutional in 2023.
